قَالَ الحَافِظُ ابنُ حَجَر العَسْقَلاَنِي رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ: الَّذِي يُدَاوِمُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ يُذَلُّ لَهُ لِسَانُهُ وَيَسْهُلُ عَلَيْهِ قِرَاءَتُهُ فَإِذَا هَجَرَهُ ثَقُلَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْقِرَاءَةُ وَشَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ

Ḥāfiẓ ibn Ḥajar al-‘Asqalānī (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said:

“The one who constantly reads the Qurān, gets his tongue used to it and so reading becomes easy for him, but when he abandons it, reading it becomes very heavy for him and difficult.”
