قَالَ الشَّافِعِيُّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ: مَنْ لا يُحِبُّ الْعِلْمَ فَلا خَيْرَ فِيهِ، فَلا يَكُنْ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ مَعْرِفَةٌ وَلا صَدَاقَة

Imām Shāfi’ī (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said:

“Whoever does not love knowledge, there is no good in him. So there should not be any acquaintance between you and him, nor any friendship.”
