Sa’īd bin Jubayr (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said:
“Indeed, fear (of Allāh) is that you fear Allāh to such an extent that your fear becomes a barrier between you and your sin. That is true fear. And remembrance (of Allāh) is obedience to Him. So, whoever obeys Allāh has remembered Him, and whoever does not obey Him is not remembering Him, even if they frequently engage in glorifying (Him) and reciting the Qurān.”
