Ja’far bin Sulaymān on concern about the world and the hereafter

عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ رَحِمَهُ اللّٰهُ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ رَحِمَهُ اللّٰهُ، قَال: >هَمُّ الدُّنْيَا ظُلْمَةٌ فِي الْقَلْبِ، وَهَمُّ الْآخِرَةِ نُورٌ فِي الْقَلْبِ<
Translation
‘Abdullāh bin Mubārak [d. 181H] (may Allāh have mercy upon him) reported: Ja’far bin Sulaymān [d. 178H] (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said: “Concern about the world is a darkness in the heart, and concern about the Hereafter is a light in the heart.”
