حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَرِيزٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ: لَوْ يَعْلَمُ أَحَدُكُمْ مَا لَهُ فِي قَوْلِهِ لِأَخِيهِ: جَزَاكَ اللَّهُ خَيْرًا، لَأَكْثَرَ مِنْهَا بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ
‘Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (may Allāh be pleased with him) said:
“If one of you knew what is for him (in reward) in saying to his brother: Jazak Allāhu khayran (may Allāh reward you with good), you would increase in saying it to one another.”
