‘Abdullāh ibn Mas’ūd on Death and Importance of One’s Deeds

'Abdullāh ibn Mas'ūd (may Allāh be pleased with him) said: “You are in the passage of day and night, your life decreases [by every passing moment] but your deeds are all preserved and death shall come to you all of a sudden. So, whoever planted good is soon to expect the harvest of happiness, and whoever planted evil is soon to expect the harvest of regret.”

‘Abdullāh ibn Mas’ūd on Taking Account of Sins

'Abdullāh ibn Mas'ūd (may Allāh be pleased with him) said: “A believer sees his sins as if he were sitting under a mountain which, he is afraid, may fall on him; whereas the wicked person considers his sins as flies passing over his nose and he just drives them away like this.”

‘Abdullāh ibn Mas’ūd on Seeking Knowledge from the Scholars and Elders.

'Abdullāh ibn Mas'ūd (may Allāh be pleased with him) said: “The people will not cease to be upon goodness so long as they take knowledge from their Scholars, their greater ones and their elders. So when they take knowledge from their young ones and their foolish ones, they are destroyed.”
