Al-Fuḍayl bin ‘Iyāḍ on the best of righteous deeds

حدثنا أبو عبد الرحمن السلمى، أخبرنا عبد الله بن أحمد الشيباني، قال سمعتُ زنجويه بن الحسن، حدثنا علي بن الحسن الهلالي، حدثنا إبراهيم بن الأشعث، قال سمعتُ الفضيل يقول: >خير العمل أخفاه، وأمنعه من الشيطان، وأبعده من الرياء<
Translation
Al-Fuḍayl bin ‘Iyāḍ [d. 187H] (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said: “The best of deeds is that which is most hidden, safest from shayṭān, and furthest from showing-off.”
