Ḥāfiẓ ibn Ḥajr al-‘Asqalānī on reading Qurān constantly

قَالَ الحَافِظُ ابنُ حَجَر العَسْقَلاَنِي رَحِمَهُ اللّٰهُ: >الَّذِي يُدَاوِمُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ يُذَلُّ لَهُ لِسَانُهُ وَيَسْهُلُ عَلَيْهِ قِرَاءَتُهُ فَإِذَا هَجَرَهُ ثَقُلَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْقِرَاءَةُ وَشَقَّتْ عَلَيْهِ<

Translation
Ḥāfiẓ ibn Ḥajr al-‘Asqalānī [d. 852H] (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said: “The one who constantly reads the Qurān, gets his tongue used to it and so reading becomes easy for him, but when he abandons it, reading it becomes very heavy for him and difficult.”

Al-Fuḍayl bin ‘Iyāḍ [d. 187H] (may Allāh have mercy upon him) said: “The best of deeds is that which is most hidden, safest from shayṭān, and furthest from showing-off.”
