‘Abdullāh bin Mas’ūd on knowledge being acquired by learning

قَالَ عَبْدُ اللّٰهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُ: >إن أحدا لا يولد عالما، والعلم بالتعلم<
Translation
‘Abdullāh bin Mas’ūd [d. 28H] (may Allāh be pleased with him) said: “Indeed, no one is born a scholar. Rather, knowledge is gained by learning.”
