Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 42: Allāh says He forgives those who call upon Him, seek forgiveness, and ascribe no partner to Him, however great their sins.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 41: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "None of you truly believes until his desires are subservient to that which I have brought.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 40: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to be in this world as a stranger or traveler. Take advantage of health and life before death.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 39: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said Allāh has pardoned for his ummah their mistakes, forgetfulness, and what they are forced to do.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 38: Allāh declares war on whoever shows enmity to His walī, and drawing near to Him through duties and nawāfil brings His love.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 37: Allāh records deeds; intending a good deed is written as complete, and performing it is multiplied from ten up to 700 times.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 36: The Prophet ﷺ said Allāh aids His slave so long as he aids his brother, removes his grief, and eases the path to Paradise.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 35: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ forbade envy, hatred, and oppression, commanding Muslims to be brothers and slaves of Allāh.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 34: Whoever sees an evil must change it with his hand; if unable, with his tongue; if unable, with his heart, the weakest faith.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 33: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said that the burden of proof is upon the claimant, and taking an oath is upon him who denies.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 32: Abī Sa’īd al-Khudrī reported that the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 31: The Prophet ﷺ said: Renounce the world and Allāh will love you, and renounce what people possess, and people will love you.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 30: Allāh set obligations, limits, and prohibitions, and remained silent on some things out of compassion, so do not seek them.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 29: Mu’ādh asks the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ about deeds to enter Paradise and avoid Hellfire, like prayer, fasting, and charity.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 28: The Prophet ﷺ counsels taqwā of Allāh, obedience to leaders, and keeping to his Sunnah and that of the Khulafā’ ar-Rāshidīn.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 27: Righteousness is in good character, and wrongdoing is that which wavers in your soul and you dislike people finding out about.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 26: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said charity is due daily for every joint, such as judging justly, good words, and steps to prayer.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 25: Companions say the affluent took the rewards, so the Prophet ﷺ states that every tasbīḥah, takbīrah, and taḥmīdah is charity.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 24: Allāh forbade oppression for Himself and His servants, commanding them not to oppress each other and to seek His guidance.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 23: The Prophet ﷺ said purification is half of īmān, prayer is a light, charity is a proof, and patience is illumination.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 22: The Prophet ﷺ affirmed that performing obligatory prayers, fasting Ramaḍān, and observing ḥalāl and ḥarām leads to Paradise.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 21: Sufyān asks the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ about Islām, who replies: “Say: ‘I believe in Allāh’, and then be steadfast on it.”

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 20: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said that from the speech of the earliest prophecy is: If you feel no shame, then do as you wish.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 19: The Prophet ﷺ tells Ibn ‘Abbās: Be mindful of Allāh and He will protect you; ask Allāh alone, and seek help from Allāh alone.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 18: The Prophet ﷺ said to have taqwā of Allāh wherever you are, wipe out a bad deed with good, and behave well towards people.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah Ḥadīth 17: Allāh has prescribed iḥsān in all things: slaughter well, sharpen your blade, and spare suffering to the animal.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 16: A man said to the Prophet ﷺ, “Advise me.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Do not become angry,” repeating it each time the man asked.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 15: The Prophet ﷺ said whoever believes in Allāh and the Last Day must speak good or keep silent, honour his neighbor and guest.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 14: The Prophet ﷺ said: It is not permissible to spill a Muslim’s blood except for adultery, a life for a life, and forsaking dīn.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah Ḥadīth 13: The Prophet ﷺ said: “None of you [truly] believes until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself.”

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 12: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said that part of the perfection of one’s Islām is his leaving that which does not concern him.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah Ḥadīth 11: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Leave that which makes you doubt for that which does not make you doubt.”

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah Ḥadīth 10: Allāh is pure and accepts only that which is pure, commanding believers to eat lawful food and perform righteous deeds.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 9: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: Avoid what I forbade, do what I ordered as much as you can, and avoid excessive questioning.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 8: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ was ordered to fight people until they testify to Allāh and Muḥammad, establish ṣalāh, and pay zakāh.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 7: The Prophet ﷺ said religion is naṣīḥah (sincerity): to Allāh, His Book, His Messenger, Muslim leaders, and their common folk.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 6: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said ḥalāl and ḥarām are clear, and he who avoids doubtful matters clears his religion and honor.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 5: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: "He who innovates something in this matter of ours that is not of it, will have it rejected.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 4: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ described creation in the womb, after which an angel blows the soul and writes four matters.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 3: The Prophet ﷺ said Islām is built on five: testifying to Allāh and His Messenger, ṣalāh, zakāh, Ḥajj, and fasting in Ramaḍān.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 2: ‘Umar reports that a man in extremely white clothes and black hair, whom none of them knew, sat down close by the Prophet ﷺ.

Al-Arba’īn an-Nawawīyah 1: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said deeds are considered by intentions, and a person will get the reward according to his intention.
