حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ المَقْبُرِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ، لاَ يُبَالِي المَرْءُ مَا أَخَذَ مِنْهُ، أَمِنَ الحَلاَلِ أَمْ مِنَ الحَرَامِ

Chapter [7]: One who does not care from where he earns

Ḥadīth [2059]: It is narrated on the authority of Abī Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: A time will come when one will not care how one gains one’s money, legally or illegally.”

1: Warning from the trials of wealth.

2: Dispraise of abandoning piety and being careful in earning (only permissible) wealth.

3: The narration is from the signs of the prophethood [of Muḥammad (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him)], and it contains prophecy about the changing of the condition (of people) in the end of days.
