2. Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim Ḥadīth [1054]

It is narrated on the authority of ‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘Āṣ (may Allāh be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “He is successful who has accepted Islām, who has been provided with sufficient for his want and been made contented by Allāh with what He has given him.”

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim Ḥadīth [1917]

It is narrated on the authority of Abī Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “Be prompt in doing good deeds (before you are overtaken) by turbulence which would be like a part of the dark night. During (that stormy period) a man would be a Muslim in the morning and an unbeliever in the evening or he would be a believer in the evening and an unbeliever in the morning, and would sell his faith for worldly goods.”

It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullāh [ibn Mas'ūd] that he said: The Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “If you are three, two amongst you should not converse secretly between yourselves to the exclusion of the other (third one), until some other people join him (and dispel his loneliness), for it may hurt his feelings.”

Sālim reported on the authority of his father (‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar) that Allāh's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “A Muslim is the brother of a fellow-Muslim. He should neither commit oppression upon him nor ruin him, and he who meets the need of a brother, Allāh would meet big needs, and he who relieved a Muslim from hardship Allāh would relieve him from the hardships to which he would be put on the Day of Resurrection, and he who did not expose (the faults of a Muslim) Allāh would conceal his faults on the Day of Resurrection.”

It is narrated on the authority of Abī Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make their husbands incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas its odour would be smelt from such and such distance.”

Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim Ḥadīth [1893] – One Who Guides to Something Good…

It has been narrated on the authority of Abī Mas'ūd Al-Anṣārī (may Allāh be pleased with him) who said:“A man came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) and said: My riding beast has been killed, so give me some animal to ride upon. He (the Prophet) said: I have none with me. A man said: Messenger of Allāh, I can guide him to one who will provide him with a riding beast. The Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: One who guides to something good has a reward similar to that of its doer.”

It is reported on the authority of Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allāh (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “When the human being dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him.”
